March Wipocalypse

I worked on my cat cushion since the last Wipocalypse update.
And I worked on Little Fairies at play.  Page 3 is moving along.
Finished another star on Amish Star.  3 more to go.
And I am in the home stretch on In the Garden.  Doing all of the backstitching.  I always save the backstitching til last.  It does bring the picture to life.

I think I had a pretty good month.  I did order another HAED during their Easter sale.  I will post a picture when I receive it.  I am now calling this Stashing for Retirement!  I don't know when I will get to all of my projects.

I worked on Cat Cushion this past week and made decent progress.  I think I would have gotten more done but I kept falling asleep two of the nights I worked on it.

The weather was beautiful yesterday.  Sunny and low 40's.  I went walking on the Rivergreenway 3.8 miles.  I am still participating in the 250 miles by June 1 challenge.  So far I am at 86 miles.  If the weather stays nice on the weekends, I think I can make my goal.  Weight loss is not doing so good.  I gained 5lbs during the holidays and have struggled to lose it and more.  It is a yo-yo thing, lose 3 lbs, gain 2lbs.  Hoping with warmer weather my food cravings will stop and I can exercise more outdoors.

My sister and I will be hiking the Grand Canyon this summer.  We have slowly been collecting the things we will need.  My sister bought us hats.  Hers is just like this but pink.  My sister likes to make a fashion statement no matter what she does.
I worked on Little Fairies at Play this past week.  Moving right along on page 3.  16,284 stitches complete.
And I put together another puzzle.  This one only had 550 pieces.

I know I am a day early for the TUSAL (totally useless stitch along) but I don't get on the computer much during the week.  And Yahoo put my pictures in the order it wanted.  Oh well here are my orts from the last new moon.  Lots from Little Fairies at Play and Amish Star.
I also put together this jigsaw puzzle.  It took a while as it does not have the traditional square border. My daughter and son-in-law gave me this for Christmas.  I love all of the colors.  I also has alot of little details in it.
Another view of my orts.  I will squish them down so I can put this months in.
And here is my progress on Amish Star.  3 stars done.  I am stitching it on 14ct black with 3 strands of floss.  I think I have enough fabric to make a total of 6 and then I will begin the assembly.

Last week was a busy week with something going on almost every night.  I did buy my first tv and my son-in-law hooked it up for me.  I was using a borrowed 19 inch tube tv.  I now have a HD 40 inch LED set.  Wow what a difference!  Friday night we went to my brother's house to celebrate all of the March birthdays.  My two kids, dad, two nieces and several others.  It was a fun time.  Then Saturday my sister and I cooked a birthday lunch for my dad.  Some of our favorite foods from childhood - tongue in bbq sauce, 3 bean salad, mashed potatoes and apple crisp with ice cream for desert.   Lunch out at the pizza place today as that is my son's pick for his birthday meal and then back to watching what I eat.

I have finished page 2 of Little Fairies at Play and made a start on page 3!  15,534 stitches complete.  I am going to continue working on this one every other week.

This will be a busy week.  My son's birthday is Friday. He will be 17. We are going out Thursday with his grandparents for dinner, Friday we will be at my brother's house celebrating all of the March birthdays (4 kids and 2 adults), Saturday my sister and I are cooking a special lunch for my father whose birthday is today.  He is 79.   We are having a family favorite of tongue with BBQ sauce and 3 bean salad, apple crisp (it will be my first time making this) and ice cream!  So lots of fun to look forward to this week.
