Wipocalypse December

I worked on Little Fairies at Play.  Moving right along on page 8.
Also got some time in on Butterfly Fairy Night.
And Summer Sensation got worked on also this month.

So looking back on my stitching journey for 2015.  I did finish a few small pieces:

And I started four most of which will not be finished in 2016.  I do hope to have one finish in 2016. I also have one new planned start of another HAED.  They are very addictive.  I also hope to stitch a few more small pieces.  I have to have some finishes for 2016.

I have 6 active WIPs in my rotation.  Since I am working on Little Fairy at Play every other week, some of my pieces do not get very much attention.  This is slowing down my progress.  I want to start more projects but need to re-think how I will handle a bigger rotation.

I will update my pictures on my WIPocalypse 2015 page at the end of next week. I might make some progress on one of my wips before 1/1/16.

I appreciate all of the nice comments everyone has made throughout 2015.  I also enjoy reading everyones blogs.  Looking at everyone's stitching progress inspires me to keep going.

Butterfly Fairy Night got some attention this past week.  Since I work on Little Fairies at Play every other week my other projects don't come up very often in my rotation.

I worked on Little Fairies at Play again this week. I really hate to put it away and move on to my next project.

Sunday, December 6, 2015

Worked on Summer Sensation this past week.  Finished this poppy and some green leaves.  Just not enough stitching time to get alot done.

Just a quick update on Little Fairies at Play.  After finishing the HAED challenge I have 1,671 stitches complete on page 8.  Returning to my regular rotation now.

November WIPocalypse

Garden of Faith Hope and Love
Little Fairies at Play

I only worked on 2 projects since the last full moon.  I finished page 7 on Little Fairies at Play.  I joined the facebook HAED group and they have a challenge going to stitch 400 stitches by 11/28/15 on a HAED project.  Since I had just finished a page I thought this would give me a good start on page 8.  I have 3 more days to put some more stitches in.   Then I will go back to my regular rotation.

This month we are to answer the question which designer has inspired us to stitch the most designs and why.  I think the designer for me would be Joan Elliott.  The first design of hers that I stitched was Angel of Cross Stitch. It took me 4 years.

I also did Autumn Angel, the Sewing Room, Happy Girl (from a magazine and the design had no name) and Seed Packets by Joan Elliott.  I have alot more of her designs in my stash.  I think I like the colors she uses and the faces on her people.

I forgot to mention that I have a Joan Elliott in my rotation now - Freedom.

I worked on Garden of Faith, Hope and Love last week.  It is moving right along.  I am back to Little Fairies at Play this week.  Page 8 has alot of solid stitching near the bottom.  Hope to make alot of progress before I hit the confetti.

Sunday, November 8, 2015

After my page finish I continued to work on Little Fairies at Play.  I got a decent start on page 8.  The bottom half does not have much  confetti stitching.  So I should move right along.
Last week I took a day off and we went to the National Military History Center and Automotive & Carriage Museum in Auburn IN.  We spent the morning there, had some lunch and took a walk in Meta County Park.  The weather was sunny and in the mid 70's.
And last night we celebrated my brother's 50th birthday.  We bobbed for apples.  The kids had never bobbed for apples.  This is my brother showing them how it is done.  They youngest - Anna age 6 - was the only one to successfully get an apple.  Everyone else got their apple a unique way.

Somehow I hurt my achilles tendon.  I  am going to rest it today (stitching time) and Wednesday I will go back out to finish raking my leaves.

Page Finish!

I finally finished page 7 of Little Fairies at Play.
Here is how it looks with all 7 pages.  This is 51,708 stitches.  I am 35% done.  I must be one of the slowest HAED stitchers.  I still have the rest of this week to get a good start on page 8.

WIPocalypse October

This month I worked on Faces of Faery 90.
And Little Fairies at Play got worked on every other week.  It is back out now and I hope to finish page 7 this week with a start on page 8.  Someone asked for a picture of the whole thing.  When page 7 is done I will see if I can get a picture.
And this past week I worked on Freedom by Joan Elliott.  There will be alot of backstitching on this project.

This month we are to talk about if there are any fibers or fabrics we are afraid to try.  I don't like stitching on linen.  Most of my projects are on Aida.  Butterfly Fairy Night is on evenweave.  I am doing better this time than when I stitched Butterfly Fairy Day.  But I go slow to make sure I am stitching in the right place.

I have not tried very many specialty fibers.

I am almost finished with page 7.  Still alot of confetti.  From a distance I think the flowers look like Hollyhocks. I hope to get this page finished next rotation and make a good start on page 8 which I hope does not have as much confetti.  I had been getting 2 page finishes a year until this page.

Sunday, October 11, 2015

This week I worked on Faces of Faery 90.  It is moving right along.  I really enjoy stitching on my HAED pieces.
The week before I worked on Little Fairies at Play.  Closing in on a page finish but back in the confetti area.  I will be working on this piece again this week.
And I spent 2 days in Southern Indiana visiting family.  We went to a wildlife/nature preserve.
It was quiet and beautiful there.  Time to get back to my regular schedule.

WIPocalypse September

Since the last full moon I have worked on Little Fairies at Play
 Butterfly Fairy Night,
Garden of Hope
And Summer Sensation

I get home so late that by the time I get dinner fixed and eaten, there is only an hour before bed and I don't get my stitching out.

This  month we are to talk about where we get our stash.  I am lucky I have an LNS here in town - Stitch N Frame.  I don't go very often as I have plenty of stash.  I was trying to get a piece framed every year.  Maybe I will start that again next year.

We also have 2 Michaels - one by where I work and one by where I live, a Hobby Lobby and Walmart is now carrying floss again.  I mostly buy more floss from any of the stores that have the number I need.

This past weekend we went to the James Dean Festival in Fairmount.   So again not much stitching got done.

Sunday, September 20, 2015

I worked on Little Fairies at Play last week. I was working on the more solid stitched areas and made alot of progress.  But that whole middle section is full of confetti stitches.  This page had alot of confetti stitching. I think that is why it is taking so long to finish it.  (thats my story and I am sticking to it)

The weather is beautiful here.  Low 70's and no humidity.  And the weekly forecast calls for that all week.  I am going to try and walk every night this week.  I did 2 miles with my sister today at a local park.

Sunday, September 13, 2015

This week I worked on Butterfly Fairy Night.  Some progress was made but not  alot.  I am trying to get back into working out.  Finding the time to do everything I have to do, and want to do is hard.  So I only get about an hour a night to stitch. (if I am lucky).

This week I am back to working on Little Fairies at Play.  Still hoping to finish page 7.

Monday, September 7, 2015

I started another project.  This one is called A Garden of Faith, Hope, Love from Cross Country Stitching June 1999.  This one has been in my to do pile for a long time.  With my new motto "You can't finish anything if you never start" I went ahead and started this one  It kinda looks like a pin head person.  But the hair is done in whisper and I will add that when I am finished with all of the cross stitching.  The fabric is very stiff.  It is 14 ct Antique White Aida.  I haven't had any this stiff in a long time.
Here is what it will look like when it is finished.  This one shouldn't take too long compared to some of my others.

WIPocalypse August

Since the last full moon I worked on Faces of Faery 90.
I just finished a weeks rotation on Little Fairies at Play.  Close to finishing page 7.  I work on this one every other week.
And I started a new project Freedom by Joan Elliott.  Doesn't look like much now. It had been on my to be started list for several years.  I decided to clean out that list and start all of the projects sitting on it.  I have another project to start tonight.

The topic this month is to pick one of the projects we worked on this month and tell about our stitching journey. I am picking Little Fairies at Play.  I had been watching everyone stitching on HAED's but never saw one that really made me want to start stitching it.  Then while browsing at my LNS one day I saw Little Fairies at Play.  I knew I had to stitch it and thought it would look great hanging in my future granddaughter's room.  My daughter was not married at the time.  I began stitching this in 2011.  I decided to use scroll rods for the first time and went to the lumber store to get 2 rods long enough.  I quickly fell in love with this project.  It is 28 pages long and 146,700 stitch  es.  After 4 years I am just about to finish page 7.  Since my first HAED purchase I have purchased several more.  2 are larger than this one.  One would look great in a future grandson's room.  I have 2 HAEDs in progress and will start my 3rd one in 2016.  My new motto is If I never start I will never get finished.  Still no grandkids so I am ahead for the moment.

Sunday, August 23, 2015

I started another new project - Freedom by Joan Elliott.  I bought this kit on clearance at Hobby Lobby quite a few years ago.  I only got to work on it a few days.  It took a while to sort out the colors.  Here is a picture of what it will look like when it is done

I still have another planned start for this year.  Soo many projects so little time.

Sunday, August 16, 2015

I worked on Little Fairies at Play this week.  Pushing to finish page7. I work on this one every other rotation slot.
Haven't showed my Orts in a while.  I had to push them down some and it looks like they need it again.

I had a 20% off everything coupon from Michaels.  Bought floss, bobbins and a new project box.  This is for another HAED start.  I plan on starting it in 2016.  They are so addictive.  This is another large project.  A little larger than Little Fairies at Play.  But if I never start I will never finish.

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

I worked on Faces of Faery 90 last week.  I was cruising on this one.  I got 1400 stitches done for a total done now of 2100.  I had thought the large black areas would be boring and go slow.  But not having to change colors means I can move right along.

I am working on kitting up another HAED for a future start in 2016.  Unless I lose the urge to start new projects.  I do like to have finishes and because I have so many large projects I might not have alot of finishes very often.

I really want to finish Little Fairies at Play in my lifetime.  So I do work on that every other rotation. I am working on it this week and hope to make some good progress.
