December WIPocalypse

I managed to work on three projects this month:

This month we are to talk about our progress on the projects that were on our WIP list.  Well I did stitch on each of my projects quite regularly.  But this is the first year that I have not had any finishes. I really thought I would finish the Garden of Faith Hope and Love as it is not a large project.  But I have been working every other week on Little Fairies at Play in the hopes I can get it finished sooner rather than later.

I am going to re-look at my rotation for 2017 and see how I can re-vamp it to get more finishes.

I will not update my WIPocalypse 2016 page until December is over as I still have 2 weeks to work on projects.

I also have purchased my empty ornament to put my 2016 orts in.

Little Fairies at Play moving right along on page 10. Large blocks of color in this section are moving this quickly.

Looking forward to the winter and no yardwork for a while. Hope to get more stitching in.

Butterfly Fairy Night.  I just got into the groove on this one and it is time to switch. This is my only project on even weave and it takes a while to get used to stitching on it.

Wipocalypse November

 Little Fairies at Play  Page 9 is finished and page 10 started.  I finished page 9 on 10/24/16.

Garden of Faith, Hope and Love almost have the second person done.

Posting this early as I wont have time on the 14th.

WIPocalypse October

 Faces of Faery 90 I just finished my week on this one

 Little Fairies at Play.  Still pushing to finish page 9 before the end of the year.

Summer Sensation made an unexpected appearance.

We are almost done remodeling the bedroom.  Just need a new curtain and some bedside lamps.

Tomorrow we are moving my father from assisted living into the Health Care Center.  (Nursing Home.)  I  guess Health Care Center sounds better.

Little Fairies at Play slowly getting page 9 finished.  Still hope to have this page done before the end of the year and start page 10 before 2017 starts.


I have Monday off as we are moving my Dad from assisted living to nursing home side.  Maybe later in the day I will get some extra stitching time. 

Last week I worked on Summer Sensation.  I was supposed to be working on Faces of Faery 90 but everything from my bedroom was stacked into the spare bedroom and I could not get to it.

I now have new carpet in the bedroom, it is painted and I am just needing a bed.  Once I get my bedroom done I will work on turning the spare bedroom into my craft room.

This week I am working on Little Fairies at Play and then next week I will get back on track with Faces of Faery 90.

WIPocalypse September

 Little Fairies at Play.  I moved the scroll rods to work on the bottom of the page.  I think page 9 will be done before the end of the year as there are large blocks of color left on this page.

 Freedom.  Still working on the D.

Butterfly Fairy Night. I am struggling to see the holes on this even weave. Time for another visit to the eye doctor.

Skipping the question of the month as I can't think of a story.  Each of my projects are picked for a reason especially since most will take a long time to complete.  Some I am attracted to the bright happy colors, some the subject matter.

WIPocalypse August

 Little Fairies at Play.  I haven't taken an updated picture of this one in awhile but I do work on it every other week.

 Garden of Faith Hope and Love.  Took this on my vacation to Pigeon Forge and did not touch it.  So I worked on it this past week.

 We also went to the Smokey Mountain National Park.

 Hiked back to this waterfall.  Temperatures were in the mid 90's  plus humid all week.  We also spent a day at Dollywood and a day walking around Gatlinburg.  We had a good relaxing time which is  what vacation is all about.

Summer Sensation was worked on since last month's posting.

I have watched snippets of the Olympics.  Seems like it was always track and Bolt was running/winning.

I am also re-doing my bedroom.  It is almost empty and the painting can begin.  Then new carpet and some new furniture.

I worked on Summer Sensation this past week.  Finished another flower.

It has been so hot here I have not mowed my lawn in 3 weeks.  I have been waiting for a cool day and have not found one yet.

My daughter gave us free tickets to the Brickyard 400.  So we spent last Sunday at the Indianapolis Speedway. Tempatures were 92 but with humidity it felt like 108.  I wish all of the sweating led to weight loss.  But it didn't.

One more week of work (and lots of overtime) and then I leave on vacation.  I will pick one of my smaller projects to take with me.

WIPocalypse July

 I worked on 3 projects this month.  Freedom by Joan Elliott. Finished the E and started the D.

 Still plugging away on page 9 of Little Fairies at Play with the goal of finishing this page before the end of the year.

Closing in our my first page finish for Faces of Faery 90.

One more week then I leave on vacation.  Taking a project with me.  In the past I have taken Summer Sensation and gotten sick on both trips that I had it packed as my travel project.  So I will be leaving it at home and taking Garden of Faith Hope Love.

 Fourth of July week saw me working on Little Fairies at Play.  Still on page 9. But I am switching back to this project tonight.

I worked on Faces of Faery 90 this past week.  I made alot of progress.  Closing in on a page finish.

 The week before last I worked on Little Fairies at Play.  Moving right along on page 9.

And this past week I worked on Freedom.  Finished the E and made a good start on the letter D.

I am back to working on Little Fairies at Play.  My goal is to finish page 9 before the end of the year.

WIPocalypse June

 Garden of Faith Hope and Love

Butterfly Fairies Night.  A little progress made on each one.

This month's question is do you stitch more in the Summer or Winter.  I was just thinking about this as I looked at my meager progress.  I do stitch more in the Winter as I am trapped more inside.  The Summer brings yardwork, trips and other outside activities.

I will be watching the Summer Olympics as much as I can and stitching while watching.  But I will not be participating in the stitch a-alongs.  Of course I might change my mind.  If I do participate it will be on the one where I go for distance on one project.

 Worked on Butterfly Fairy Night this week.  Only 2 nights and stitched just a few lengths into the moon.  I worked late every night this past week so not much stitching time.

On Saturday my sister ran with my Dad in a 5K for Fathers Day.  He was the oldest participant and got this flag.  They finished in 42 minutes.  Not bad and my Father enjoyed it.  He will be telling us about it for a long time.  He has dementia and short term memory is usually gone but this he is talking about.  Good memories for the family.  I went as the official photographer and my brother, his wife and 7 of their nine kids were there to cheer them on.  We all enjoyed it and are looking forward to next year's Fathers Day run.

 Little Fairies at Play got some attention this past week.  Even though I did not take part in the HAED Challenge #2 - extreme cross country stitching, I did decide to try cross country stitching over part of a page.  It does seem to go faster.  I just noticed when I took this picture I have a Fairy and part of the castle appearing.

Sunday we spent the day at Michigan International Speedway watching the race.  Perfect weather.  Here is Clint Boyer zooming past. 

Last week I worked on Garden of Faith Hope Love.  I only got 2 days of stitching time and only about an hour each day.  We have been working outside.  Power washed the house, mulched and planted flowers along with yard mowing.

I have also been working late each night trying to keep up at work.

This week I am back working on Little Fairies at Play.

Little Fairies at Play received some attention this week.  Page 9 is moving along.

Spent 2 days this weekend doing yardwork.  We power washed the house, dug up old rose bushes and mulched.  With an extra day off tomorrow we will play.

May Wipocalypse

 

Little Fairies at Play.  Started page 9 and I will pick this one back up this week.

 Faces of Faery 90.  Still working on page 1.  I decided not to do the HAED challenge this time.  Doing a whole page in cross country in about a month and a half.  I just don't have enough stitching time and do not stitch that fast.  So I decided to stick with my rotation.

 Summer Sensation I worked on this the past 2 weeks.Still didn't get much done. 

Someone asked to see what charts I purchased in the last HAED sale.  Here are the ones I got:

I figured I would never finish the large design these QS were taken from.  They are small enough I have a better chance of finishing one of these smaller ones.  But I still need to find more stitching time.

This month we were to talk about what we were stitching this time last year.  I was of course stitching Little Fairies at Play, Butterfly Fairy Night and I had just started Faces of Faery 90.   And I am still stitching them all.

 Faces of Faery 90 saw some attention.  I  worked on it for 2 weeks since I didn't get much time to work on it

 I went to Clifty Falls State Park and Mammoth Cave hiking with my sister for a week.  Took a project to stitch on and had a bad cold and just slept each night.  We did see alot of wildlife.  Box Turtles were out and about.  We moved some off the roads and found this one in the woods.

The bull frogs were loudly singing.  It did rain every day but we hiked anyways.  The wild turkeys were also out doing their mating dances.

WIPocalypse April

 At the end of March I finished page 8 of Little Fairies at Play.  Five months for a page finish.  I am hoping to finish another page before the end of the year.

 So I made a start on page 9.  This is as of today.  Stitching time has been limited.  Too many other activities.

And I did work on Freedom this past month  I have almost finished this letter.  I plan on getting back into my rotation.

I did buy 5 more HAED charts during the past 2 sales.  So I need to get it in gear if I have any hope of finishing anything.

This month we were to talk about what we listen to while stitching.  Most of the time I am watching tv  Occasionally when I am home alone I do put on the radio and stitch away.  I do get more done with the radio on.
