Question of the Month: What retreats or stitching events would you love to attend someday?
I have not been to any stitching retreats. I would like to find one not to far from home and not too expensive. Maybe someday I will look into finding one.
This month I did not get as much stitching done. My Mother-in-law was here for a few weeks and we also took her to southern Indiana to visit her daughter and grandkids. So we spent a week away and I took a travel piece to work on.
At the end of September I looked at my list of WIPs and at which projects I had wanted to finish in 2026. I had 3 at the beginning of the year that I wanted to finish - Jolly Snowman, Princess & the Dragon and QS Porthole of Fantasy. So I decided to focus on these projects in October to move them closer to being finished by the end of 2026.
October stitching:
Queen of the Sea I was close to finishing the backstitching in September and kept it out to finish it on 10/2/26.QS Porthole of Fantasy I finished up page 6 on 10/12/26. 2 finishes in one month.
Jolly Snowman. I worked on this one alot in October. I have finished up all the cross stitching and will start on the backstitching and a few beads in November.
Princess & the Dragon. I have been adding the backstitching. One page is done and just one to go. I do enjoy backstitching. Even though it is hard to see in this picture it does make the details stand out.
Owl Faces I took this one to Southern Indiana and stitched on it at night in the hotel room. Made some good progress on it.
My daily stitch is QS Magic Island. I am halfway done with page 13.When looking at my list of wips I found 2 other wips that could be finished before the end of 2026.
Hello Autumn put in a day of stitching. It will be back out in November to see if I can push it towards a finish.
If I manage to finish Jolly Snowman, Princess & the Dragon, Hello Autumn and Harvest Corn by the end of December I will be down to just 10 WIPs. I like to have around 20 wips. So I will be planning 6-10 new starts for January (depending on how many I finish). I have 6 pulled so far and will pick more as the spots open up.
