Its time again to post our Orts for the TUSAL.  I have been stitching away this month and feel I am making good progress on all of my projects.  It helps that it has been soo cold out that I am forced to stay inside and stitch.  Lol

Next up in my rotation was my Cat Cushion.  I usually just stitch on a project for a week but my week was interrupted by a trip to Rochester NY.  So I picked this one back up after my return.  I got alot done and should finish this one up in the next few rotations.
While I was in Rochester I took along Sunflower Swirl to work on.  I made good progress on this one.  I made it home from Rochester in time for more snow and cold weather here.  My son only went to school 2 days last week.  We are expecting more snow this week and sub zero temperatures.

They did come and install my central airconditioning before I left for Rochester.  So I am all set for summer.  I have never had air conditioning and decided to add it when I got the new furnace.  I see alot of people have joined the stitching from stash challenge this year.  I didn't join but will be doing that as much as possible since I have put alot of money in home repairs.  College is also looming in the fall for my son.  Good thing I have a large stash.  I knew there was a reason I was always adding to it.

January Wipocalypse

It is time for the first post for Wipocalypse.  I have 3 projects in my rotation currently. I rotate on a weekly basis making the switch on Sundays.  This will be my 3rd year participating.  I enjoy looking at everyones projects.

I am supposed to tell a little about me.  I am 50, single with one child left at home who is almost ready to go to college.  I love being outdoors.  I have more projects than I will ever be able to stitch but that doesn't stop me from buying more.  I tend to like large projects but I am trying to do different sizes so that I can get some finishes once in a while.  I also like colorful projects.

Little Fairies at Play - a HAED.  I am working on page 5.
Sunflower Swirl.  I just started this one and hope to finish it in 2014.

Cat Cushion.  This one is up this week.
And my last finish of 2013 - Surely Goodness and Mercy.   I finished this since the last Wipocalypse posting.

I worked on Little Fairies at Play this past week and finished page 4!  With the blizzard we had I was forced to stay inside and stitch.  lol  I finished page 4 on Monday as work was closed.  I also made a nice start on page 5.
Here is a shot of the whole thing so far.  Page 6 still needs to go next to page 5 before I roll it up to begin another row.  I hope to finish page 5 and 6 in 2014.  More would be nice of course.
Here are some pictures of the snow we got on Sunday 1/4/14.  12 inches on top of the  7 we already had.  Work was closed for a day and a half.  Schools were shut down for the week as temps Monday - Wednesday were below zero with wind chills of 40 below.  That was the coldest on record for this area.
My driveway drifted.  I had been shoveling every 2 hours during the storm on Sunday.  It took me an hour to dig out to the plowed road on Tuesday.
More snow.  Friday the temps went up to 40 and we had rain.  Same on Saturday.  So all of this lovely white snow is almost gone and what is left is a slushy mess.

While I was snowed in I also kitted up another new start.  Just need to pick up a few colors I was missing.

Here are my Orts at the end of the year on 12/31/13.  A nice full jar.  I emptied my jar out to start again.
Here is how my Ort jar looks as of 1/4/14.  Greens and yellows from my new start.
Top view of my full Ort jar from 2013.  I was having a cup of tea stitching away on 12/31.
And the top view of my Ort jar on 1/4/14.  Can you tell not much is going on in my life to get pictures of Orts.  lol
We are hunkered down for a large winter storm.  10-12 inches of snow with temps dropping down to -25 below.  And that is supposed to be the high on Monday.  Here is a picture of my back yard at the start of the storm.  We already had 6 inches from an earlier snow fall.  We will see if the weatherman is right and we get all of the snow and cold they are calling for.
Here is my new start - Sunflower Swirl from Crosstitcher UK September 2004.  I have stitched quite a few designs from this magazine already.  I started this on 12/30/13.

I got home from work on New Year's Eve to find that my furnace had died.  The repair man came out and pronounced it dead.  He was very nice and left me with 2 electric heaters (my house is very small).  Those heaters worked better than my furnace and it was a nice toasty 75 in here.  The furnace men came back on Friday and installed my new furnace.  It works wonderful.  Just in time for the freezing temps we are to get this week.  So I had extra stitching time this week with the holiday and being off Friday for the install.  Now I am planning on not leaving my house til the storm is over.  Moving on to the next project in my rotation.  With the new furnace, windows and garage door this year I am done for a while with major projects.  And I will definitely be stitching from my stash!
