WIPocalypse Feb

Since last month I have only worked on this little free kit that came with a magazine.  I can't believe how long it is taking me to finish this.  But I am getting close.  I am going to attach beads instead of doing the called for french knots.

Fizzy Moon from World of Cross Stitching #187.  It does look alot better with the back stitching.  I hope to finish this up this week and move on to another project in my rotation.

This month we are supposed to tell how we deal with a stitching rut.  When I lose my stitching mojo it helps to go to my local needlework shop and browse around.  Or I look at stitching blogs to see what everyone else is working on.  Sometimes that gets me kick started.

It's always those little pieces that take forever haha. It is too cute at least. The backstitching is really making it come alive.

Small kits can be deceptive - small doesn't always mean fast! Great job, though!

I do that as well when I'm in the rut. Unfortunately when I start getting that itch to stitch I'm no where near my WIPs and the feeling is wasted lol

That is so cute! I like your idea of using beads instead of french knots.

That little Fizzy Moon is adorable. I don't blame you for swapping french knots for beads - I think I'd do the same!
It's horrible getting stuck in a rut. I'm glad you'vee found a successful way out when it happens to you. :)

Sometimes I do that too in an attempt to keep stitcher's burn out at bay. love your progress on Little Fairies at Play.

I always use beads in place of french knots. Someone else recommended bullion knots, but I'm not any better at those! LOL As much as I loathe miles of backstitching, it really does make a difference, especially in pieces like this one. It's going to be really cute when it's finished!

How cute. I do agree that these tinies can be fiddly but they always look good

What a cute kit, but looks like there's a fair bit of fiddly backstitch in there! I always find other stitchers blogs inspiring as well, but it just makes me want to do *all*the projects.

Backstitching always kills me (it's why I can't do blackwork, to me it's just endless backstitching), but I'm a huge lover of French Knots - the beads should be cute, though!
