WIPocalype February

 Since the last full moon,  I have had one new start, Cat Cushion.

 This past week I worked on In the Garden.  Not too much more to stitch on this one.  Alot of words and backstitching.  It should be my first finish of 2013.

And I worked on Little Fairies at Play.  I almost have page 2 finished.  I am going to stitch on this one every other week.  At least until some other project pulls me away.  I really want to make alot of progress on this one this year.

So February was a good stitching month for me.  Things have settled down here and with the cold weather  there is not much else to do but stitch.  We will see what March brings.  :)

I worked again on Little Fairies at Play.  I am almost have page 2 done!  I think the next time it is up I should be able to finish page 2.  This is 13,750 stitches.

I am thinking about working on Little Fairies at Play every other week just to make some decent progress on it this year.  As the weather warms up my stitching time will become limited.

Last Sunday afternoon I went with a friend to see Identity Thief.  It was a pretty funny movie.  I then came home and did my daughter and son-in-law's taxes.  A nice busy day.

 I started a new project last Sunday - Cat Cushion from The World of Cross Stitching #159.  It is different from the other pieces I am working on.  I think the colors attracted me to this piece.

I did get some stitching done this month.  There are clippings from finishing off the scarf for my son and alot of orts from Little Fairies at Play and from my new start - Cat Cushion.  So I feel that I have made good stitching progress  since the last new moon in January.

And here is my progress on Cat Cushion after a week of stitching.  Stitching on 18ct white and it is on my scroll rods.

I won't get much stitching done today as I am going to the movies with a friend and then my daughter and son in law will be here for dinner.  I am going to show them how to do their taxes.

This week I worked on Little Fairies at Play.  I really enjoy working on this one.  I feel like I got alot done this week.  13,030 stitches complete and I am almost finished with page 2.

Today I want to do my taxes and then I will start a new project.  Hope to make decent progress to show next week.

Winter is back again with cold temps and snow. 

I have been working on my walking goal of 250 miles by June 1st. So far I have 34 miles completed.  Not bad considering the weather and I can't make it to the gym everyday.  I will stitch more while the weather is bad because once it warms up I will be out walking.

 I have finally finished my son's scarf.  Hope to get it uncurled and he still has plenty of winter left to wear it.

 I worked on In the Garden while I was in Rochester NY.  I am getting close to a finish.  This one should be done this year. 

I also worked on Amish Star and have finished up a second star and started on a third.

 From December 31st to today I have not stitched at all!  I was working on finishing the scarf I am knitting for my son.  It is done now but I need to find out how to finish it off the needles.  Then I will post a picture of it.  I can't wait to get back to my stitching.  I was also busy with the final events leading up to my daughter's wedding.  Here are some pictures.

The wedding was yesterday 1/12/12 and we had been worried about a snow storm or ice.  The weather was in the high 50's which is really warm for this time of year in Indiana.  My mother, who died 8 years ago, always told us about her wedding on Jan 31st and how warm it was.  Well my daughter had heard this story many times.  Last Monday she said her hand had started to itch.  My mother's hand always itched right before something good was going to happen to her.  As we watched the weather forecast all week, it kept getting better and better.  It was so nice out yesterday they took quite a few pictures outside.

I still have one more week that will not be my normal routine, I am headed for Rochester NY again on Friday.  Hoping the weather cooperates and I can get there and back safely.  I will be taking my stitching along with some books to read on the plane.

Wipocalypse Wrap Up

 Here are my Orts for the year. 

I will empty my jar out so I can begin again for 2013.

 I worked on In the Garden the week before Christmas.  Made good progress and should finish this one up in 2013.

And here is the scarf I am knitting for my son.  Still not done.  Good thing Indiana winters last forever.

I did update my WIPocalypse 2012 page with before and after pictures for all of my projects.

I only read 21 books in 2012.  Usually I do 100.  But this year I was so busy with other projects I just did not have the reading time.  I guess in the past I used reading as an escape from my problems.  I guess my problems were diminished in 2012.

I have picked 3 more designs to start in 2013.  Working on getting them kitted up.  I will be participating again in TUSAL and WIPocalypse.  All in all 2012 was a good stitching year.  I finished 5 projects and made good progress on my other projects.

For 2013 I have also signed up to participate in an 8 week training program for beginner 5K runners and a 5 month walk a long with a goal of 250 miles starting 1/1/13 and ending 6/1/13.  So far 7 of us are doing the walk a long.  Will be challenging as I do most of my walking outdoors and this time of the year it is too cold and icy/snowing to walk outside.  I will have to find indoor treadmill time.

In 2013 I also will continue with my home remodeling project.  More cleaning and painting and maybe new windows.

And my big trip comes up in July - Hiking the Grand Canyon.

But first is my daughter's wedding on 1/12/13.  I think everything is ready for that.

So alot to look forward to in 2013.
